Are you
a business owner who's running a well-established enterprise or a senior
management professional who has considerable work experience in their field? If
you aspire to set up your business and also obtain your Canada PR in the
process, then the province of New Brunswick is offering an exciting opportunity
that would achieve both the objectives for you.
Canada
ranks second in regards to entrepreneurial activity, beating most G7 countries,
reported CBC. In a bid to invite business owners and senior managers, Canada is
offering New Brunswick Entrepreneurial program under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee
Program (NBPNP). This
program caters to those looking for Canada business visa to set
shop in the country. This program will nominate individuals who are suited to
become economically settled in the province of New Brunswick.
Those
who have expertise in their respective sectors, start-up business ventures, or
successful business executives looking to expand their companies can benefit
from an arrangement like this. The program will allow such individuals to
develop a business base as the government provides them with a Canadian
investor visa.
How
does it work?
Before
you move forward to apply for any of New Brunswick's immigration programs, you
should be ready with all paperwork to register yourself as a Permanent Resident
(PR) of Canada.
You
also must meet all minimum eligibility requirements and selection criteria,
along with having the necessary documentation on hand to submit a precise
application.
Your
application will be processed by both the Government of New Brunswick and the
Government of Canada. Having your paperwork in place will facilitate your
request to be processed faster and further help you in understanding the New
Brunswick and Canadian immigration program.
Level
one-
There
are specific requirements you must meet for each stage of the New
Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream process that comprises registration, an
Expression of Interest (EOI form), your application and a nomination. Also, you
must meet a set of eligibility requirements, which include your age, a minimum
language proficiency, personal net worth and/or senior management experience.
Based on these factors, you would qualify if you score more than 65 points and
upon then will the PETL (Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and
Labour) nominate you.
These
are some essential eligibility factors to remember while applying-
You
must have at least 33.33 percent ownership of your business and work in an
active senior management role through the day to day operation of your
business.
Your
business should be an investment of not less than $250,000 before tax.
You
must submit legitimate test results from a designated testing organization
(IELTS General/CELPIP General) to prove you have obtained a minimum score equal
to or higher than a Canadian Language Benchmark 5.
Upon
meeting the program's eligibility factors, you can register online with the
NBPNP and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). Once you receive an
Invitation To Apply as a response, then you can proceed by providing a full
application online.
Level
two-
Create
an online candidate profile. Update your profile by making sure that all
required information is accurate and up to date throughout all stages of your
business immigration process.
To qualify
for a PR (Permanent residency), you, your spouse and dependents must meet all
statutory requirements for medical, security and criminal admissibility.
What do
you need for your PR?
For the
New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream, after meeting minimum eligibility
requirements and selection criteria, you must have all required paperwork on
hand to prepare and submit a complete and accurate application to the
provincial Government of New Brunswick and the Government of Canada. Being
ready with needed documentation will expedite the process of you obtaining your
PR.
Expression
of Interest
Submit
your EOI that outlines your interest in applying for permanent residence via
the NBPNP.
An EOI
is not an application; it is only an expression of your interest to apply for
immigration through the Entrepreneurial Stream. You will receive an official
invitation if your EOI is selected, whereafter you can submit a full
application.
If
you're selected, submit a complete application online and pay the processing fee.
The PETL will then conduct a full review of your application and asses whether
you pass the selection criteria to become a permanent resident. If the PETL
approves the application, you are then required to submit a final application
for a PR visa to the IRCC before the expiration of your Certificate of
Nomination.
IRCC
will then make the final decision for granting a PR visa after processing your
application based on Canadian immigration law. Contact IRCC directly for
updates and queries on the status of your application.
To boil
it down
The
province of New Brunswick is looking for eligible entrepreneurs who are willing
to invest and set up businesses to be a part of their thriving communities. New
Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream program is probably the only Provincial
Nominee Program under business immigration that offers direct Canada PR. It is
contrary to other business immigration programs under PNP wherein you are only
granted a work permit to set up your business, and it is transitioned to Canada
PR only once all compliances have been met.
